Juan David Mesa has served as the Head Athletic Trainer at Johnson & Wales University. Mesa previously served as the Head Athletic Trainer Somerset Academy in the fall of 2012. He was also the assistant athletic trainer for the Real Maryland professional soccer team in the summer of 2012. He is a 2012 graduate of Barry University with a specialization in athletic training. Along with his extensive experience in AT, Juan is also a certified personal trainer with a specialization in Corrective exercise for the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). Mesa is also the assistant athletic trainer for the Haitian Football Federation since 2013. This prestigus role but him on the sidelines of the most recognized Soccer tournaments in the world like CONMEBOL Copa America, CONCACAF gold cup, FIFA world cup qualifiers, and CONCACAF Caribbean Cup.
Juan continues to provide the best care possible for his student athletes. His approach consists of pain managememnt, the use of modalities, but most importantly, implemention of rehabilitation for long-term benefits. Educating the student athletes about injury prevention is his main priority, he believes awarness and proactivity is the best way to care for every individual in any sport.
