Wildcats survive 76-75 over Webber

Ricardo Suarez put the Wildcats on his back in the second half when they needed him most as he led JWU with 18 points and 17 rebounds to will the Wildcats to a thrilling 76-75 victory on the road over Webber International University. 

JWU jumped out to an early 18 point lead but couldn't sustain their margin as Webber clawed back to cut the deficit to 45-38 at the half.   So Gino Fils Aime paced the Cats with 11 points in the first half.      

JWU built the lead to 53-40 but once again Webber battled back to take the lead 68-65.   A huge three by TJ Johnson knotted the score then Suarez hit big FT's and buckets to put JWU up 76-73.   Webber hit a layup at the buzzer for the final margin.  

"You take these wins on the road in the Sun Conference.   Ricky was clutch in the final minutes for us which was the key.   We will now prepare for a tough home game vs St Thomas on Saturday" said Coach David Graham 

JWU hosts cross-town foe St. Thomas University on Saturday Jan 16 at 4pm.
