The JWU men's basketball team has qualifed for the Sun Conference tournament where they will take on #4 seed Keiser University in West Palm Beach on Thursday, February 23 at 7pm.

The Wildcats finished the season on three game win streak that sets up the showdown with Keiser in the quarterfinals.   JWU lost a 68-67 heartbreaker to Keiser on January 19 at the Wildcat Center.   The Cats led late in that game but couldn't hold on for the victory.    The rematch was played at Keiser on February 9 with the home team prevailing 73-63.

"We were in position to beat Keiser in both regular season games however we just didn't make enough plays down the stretch of the game to close them out.  That being said I am proud of the way the guys responded after the last Keiser loss in beating three tough teams to finish the regular season" said Head Coach David Graham.   The goal each year is to be playing our best basketball at the tail end of the year.   We are on the right path in that regard right now and need to continue to be solid on both ends, value the ball and rebound the ball."

JWU is led by Ricardo Suarez in scoring and rebounding with 13ppg and 8.7rpg.   He is also averaging 3.1apg.   Suarez was a 1st Team All-Sun Conference performer last season.   So. Nick Preradovic is averaging 11.4ppg and Jr Gino Fils Aime is chipping in with 11ppg and 4.5rpg.
