JWU came out hot going up 13-4 on the road and maintained the lead at the half at 35-34 but couldn't hold on as they fell 78-65 to Keiser in the Sun Conference quarterfinals.

The Wildcats went on a 5-0 run to go ahead 41-36 early in the second half then both teams exchanged blows over the next ten minutes of play which saw seven lead changes.  JWU trailed 54-52 when Sr. Tevis Robinson knocked down a corner three to put JWU up one.  Keiser answered back with a score.   Jr Gino Fils Aime scored at layup with 6:52 remaining to give the Wildcats their last lead at 57-56.  Keiser hit a long three to go ahead 65-58 with just under three minutes to go.   After a timeout Sr Jonathan Lafontant hit a three to draw the Cats within four points at 65-61 with 2:40 remaining.   From there another dagger three from Keiser and clutch free throws by the home team sealed JWU's fate.

JWU was led by Robinson with 19 points in his final game at JWU.   Jr. Gino Fils Aime had 16 points.  Lafontant chipped in with 12 points.

"We came out flying around and making plays tonight.   We came to win.   Unfortunately we were going up against a tough and well-coached team in Keiser.   It was back and forth all game but they made a few more winning plays in the final five minutes" said Head Coach David Graham.   "I told my team I was proud of them.   They played with a lot of guts all year and fought thru some rough patches.  We will absolutely miss our five seniors, Ricky, GD, Tev, TJ and Josh who helped establish a consistent winning attitude here at JWU.  I believe they beat twelve or so NAIA ranked opponents over the last three years which says a lot about what they have helped build."
