MONTGOMERY, Ala. (Nov. 10, 2017) – The Johnson & Wales men's basketball team suffered a tough loss on Friday evening, falling to Talladega (4-1) on a last-second shot, 65-62, during of the Veteran's Day Classic hosted by Faulkner University.

With 0.2 seconds left in the contest, Talladega's Brandon Banks drained the go-ahead bucket to hand the Wildcats their second-straight, two-point loss.

"I loved our toughness today," Head Coach David Graham said. "We got down by ten points in both halves but battled back to tie it in the last minute.  We just could not get the key stop on the last possession.  We need to bounce back tomorrow against another NAIA D1 program. I think we will do just that."

Three Wildcats posted double-digit scoring on Friday. Gino Fils-Aime scored a game-high 16 points on 4-of-9 shooting. The Miami native also converted 8-of-9 shots from the free-throw line. Nick Preradovic notched 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting, while Isa Brandon registered the team's first double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

JWU finished the night shooting 40.8 percent from the floor on 20-of-49 shooting, while Talladega converted 25-of-54 from the field (46.3 percent). The Wildcats held a 30-28 edge in rebounding and forced 19 Talladega turnovers.

The Wildcats hit the hardwood again on Saturday, November 11 as they take on host school, Faulkner University at 1 pm EST.
