MELBOURNE, Fla. (Nov. 21, 2017) – The Johnson & Wales men's basketball team (1-5) fell to the Florida Tech Panthers (1-4), 107-67, on Tuesday night from the Charles & Ruth Clemente Center on the campus of FIT.
Nick Preradovic led all Wildcats with 18 points on 6-of-15 shooting from the floor with all six of his buckets coming from 3-point range. Isa Brandon scored 14 points, shooting 4-of-12 from the floor and 6-of-9 from the free-throw line. Brandon led JWU with eight rebounds. Rounding out the team's leading scorers was Antonio Ruby, who posted 13 points on 4-of-9 shooting on the night and a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe.
The Wildcats finished the contest shooting 35.5 percent from the floor (22-of-62) and 31.0 percent from downtown (9-of-29). FIT connected on 57.1 percent shooting on the night (36-of-63) and was 18-of-38 from 3-point range (47.4 percent). The Panthers outrebounded the Wildcats, 37-25, and scored 24 points off 18 JWU turnovers.
The Wildcats will return home to host Edward Waters on Friday, Nov. 24. Game time is set for 2;00 p.m. ET.
