Career-High 33 Points for Preradovic Not Enough in 96-90 Overtime Loss at St. Thomas

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (Dec. 9, 2017) – The Wildcats' Nick Preradovic scored a career-high 33 points but it was not enough as the Johnson & Wales men's basketball team (2-9, 2-4 TSC) fell to the St. Thomas Bobcats (7-3, 4-1 TSC), 96-90, in overtime on Saturday.

Preradovic converted 12-of-19 shots from the floor, including a game-high seven treys for his 10th double-digit performance of the season and the fourth contest in which the Wildcat guard scored 20-or-more points this year. Gino Fils-Aime reached the 20-point plateau, scoring 21 points on 7-of-19 shooting from the floor and 4-of-6 from the free-throw line. Fils-Aime also recorded a game-high seven assists in the contest. Isa Brandon added 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting while notching a career-high five assists.

JWU finished the day shooting 42.9 percent from the floor (31-of-64) and was 14-of-38 from 3-point range (36.8 percent). St. Thomas made 59.3 percent of its shots (32-of-54) and drained 7-of-16 attempts from beyond the arc (43.8 percent). The Bobcats held a 40-29 edge in rebounding while the Wildcats forced 17 St. Thomas turnovers resulting in 27 Wildcat points.

The Wildcats will next travel to Hialeah, Florida, to take on Florida National on Tuesday, December 12. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
