NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (Dec. 18, 2017) – Shooting just 30.5 percent from the floor, the Johnson & Wales men's basketball team (3-10) fell to the Marian Knights (9-5), 88-56, on Monday night.

JWU fell behind early being out-scored in the first 20 minutes, 54-31. The Wildcats made 10-of-30 shots from the field in the first half but, the Knights drained nine more buckets than JWU, shooting 57.6 percent from the floor to take a 23-point leading into the break. The deficit was too much for the Wildcats, who dropped their fourth-straight at home.

Gino Fils-Aime led all Wildcats with 11 points, shooting 3-of-9 from the field and 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. Also scoring in double-figures was Isa Brandon, who posted 10 points on 3-of-10 shooting from the floor and 3-of-4 shooting from the charity stripe. Brandon also led the team in rebounding with six and had a game-high three blocks.

The Wildcats shot 18-of-59 from the floor (30.5) and was 6-of-27 from downtown (22.2 percent). The Knights made 32-of-65 shots (49.2 percent) and drained 37.5 percent from 3-point range (9-of-24). The Wildcats were out-rebounded, 46-32, as Marian held a 17-6 edge in second-chance points.

JWU will travel to West Palm Beach, Florida, to take part in the Keiser Classic (Dec. 19-20). The Wildcats will take on Bethel (Ind.) on Tuesday, Dec. 19 followed by a Dec. 20 showdown with Dakota Wesleyan. Tipoff for Tuesday contest is set for 1:00 p.m.
