Wildcats Drop 92-68 Decision to No. 14 Pilots

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Dec. 19, 2017) – Despite four Wildcats scoring in double-figures, the Johnson & Wales men's basketball team (3-11) were defeated by the No. 14-ranked Bethel Pilots (10-2), 92-68, on Tuesday as part of this year's Keiser Classic.

Antonio Ruby led all Wildcats with 15 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the floor and 4-of-6 shooting from the free-throw line. Nick Preradovic added 13 points converting 3-of-9 shots from the floor and 5-of-6 from the charity stripe. Majuan Bates poured in 12 points and recorded a team-high four assists. Gino Fils-Aime rounded out the double-digit scorers with 10 points. Isa Brandon led JWU in rebounding, registering a career-high 15 boards.

The Wildcats finished the afternoon shooting 36.7 percent from the floor (22-of-60) and 32.1 percent from 3-point range (9-of-28). Bethel drained 34-of-67 of its shots from the floor (50.7 percent) and 10-of-22 from beyond the arc (45.5 percent). The Pilots out-rebounded the Wildcats, 50-29, while JWU scored 18 points off 15 Bethel turnovers.

JWU will continue the Keiser Classic on Wednesday, Dec. 21, taking on Dakota Wesleyan. Tipoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
