NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (Feb. 10. 2018) – Junior Nick Preradovic and sophomore Isa Brandon each reached the 20-point plateau in an 88-67 loss for the Johnson & Wales men's basketball team (7-19, 5-11 TSC) to the No. 19-ranked Keiser Seahawks (19-7, 13-3 TSC) on Saturday afternoon.
Preradovic notched a team-high 26 points off 8-of-13 shooting, including a career-best-tying seven 3-pointers. It marked the Largo, Florida, native's eighth 20-point outing of the season. Brandon added 24 points for his fourth 20-point outing of the year. The Chesterfield, England, product shot 9-of-24 from the floor and was 8-of-12 from the free-throw line. Brandon also grabbed a team-best 11 rebounds for his 15th double-double of the season.
Keiser used a 49-33 second half to hand the Wildcats their 11th conference loss of the season. The Wildcats were outshot 53.1 percent to 30.6 percent in the final 20 minutes of action. For the game, JUW shot 31.9 percent from the floor (23-of-72) and was 11-of-39 from beyond the arc (28.2 percent). KU finished the afternoon shooting 46.5 percent from the floor (33-of-71) and 31.3 percent from 3-point range (5-of-16). A big factor in the game was the 65-34 rebounding differential held by the Seahawks that resulted in 24 second-chance points. The Wildcats did an excellent job in protecting the basketball as JWU committed just two turnovers in the contest.
The Wildcats will host the Webber International Warriors on Thursday, February 15. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
