Men’s Basketball Falls to Coastal Georgia, 100-49

BRUNSWICK, Ga. (Nov. 15, 2018)
– The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) men's basketball team (0-4, 0-1 TSC) fell to the Coastal Georgia Mariners (4-1, 1-0 TSC), 100-49, in the Sun Conference opener for both teams on Thursday night.

The Wildcats were led by junior Michael Stuart, who scored 11 points on 3-of-4 shooting from 3-point range while converting 2-of-2 from the charity stripe. Also scoring in double-figures was freshman Dwayne Adams, who notched 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting. It marked the second-straight double-digit performance for Stuart and the third time this season that Adams scored 10-or-more points in a contest.  

JWU ended the night shooting 27.8 percent from the floor (15-of-54) and was 6-of-26 from 3-point range (23.1 percent). CCG converted 40-of-73 of its shots from the field (54.8 percent) and drained 34.6 percent (9-of-26) from beyond the arc. The Mariners outrebounded the Wildcats, 52-20, and had 17 second-chance points to just two for JWU.

The Wildcats head to Thomasville, Georgia, to take on the Thomas Night Hawks on Saturday, November 17. Game time is slated for 4:00 p.m.
