Four Wildcats Score in Double-Figure in 94-70 Loss at Florida National

HIALEAH, Fla. (Nov. 20, 2018) – Four Wildcats reached double-figures in scoring as the Johnson & Wales (Fla.) men's basketball team (0-6) fell to the Florida National Conquistadors (5-6), 94-70, on Tuesday night from Bucky Dent Gym.

The Wildcats were led by freshman Dwayne Adams, who scored 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the floor. It marked Adams' fourth-straight double-digit performance and the fifth of the season for the native of Miami. Junior Michael Stuart used four 3-pointers while going 6-of-10 from the floor to post 16 points on Tuesday. Junior Sidney Alcena and sophomore Jordan Martin contributed 11 points each to round out JWU's top scorers. Senior Jacknelson Joseph and junior Willem Vermylen paced the Wildcats with six rebounds apiece.

The Wildcats ended the night shooting 41.5 percent from the floor (27-of-65) and were 9-of-29 from downtown (31.0 percent). FNU shot 56.3 percent for the game, hitting on 10-of-27 attempts from 3-point range. The Conquistadors outrebounded the Wildcats 40-26, scoring 10 more second-chance points than JWU in the contest.

JWU will return to Sun Conference action, heading to Lakeland, Florida, to face the Southeastern Fire on Thursday, November 29. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
