Coach David Graham has been with JWU's North Miami Campus for 14 years. Currently in his 12th year as coach of the men's basketball team, he has served as Director of Athletics since 2003. Prior to assuming that role he was the Director of Student Activities.
Coach Graham started the men's basketball team in 1999. He has
developed the men's team into a quality NAIA program after
competing in the USCCA for six seasons. His 2002-03 squad won
the USCAA National Championship. The Wildcats joined the
NAIA's The Sun Conference in 2009-2010. Under his direction the
Wildcats have produced seven USCAA, three USCAA Academic
All-Americans six All Sun Conference players and two NAIA Academic
All-Americans.
Coach Graham's basketball background is extensive. Beginning at West Warwick High School he earned first-team All League his junior and senior year. He was named 2nd Team All-State his senior year. He finished his high school career as the 3rd all-time leading scorer in school history with 1442 points in 3 years.
Coach Graham began his collegiate career as a guard at the Community College of Rhode Island where he started for two NJAA D1 tournament qualifiers (51-9) in 2 years. He was co-captain as a sophomore where he scored 14.3ppg. At UNC-Pembroke he was a member of the winningest team in school history his junior year when the team went 27-5. He was captain of the Braves team his senior season when they went 19-9.

Graham is the visionary of the North Miami Athletic department.
Coach Graham has been responsible for the development of the
Athletics Department from the beginning including the addition of a
35,000 square foot Wildcat Center which is due to open at the end
of 2011. He also led the move to The Sun Conference
(2009-2010). "Athletics and Campus Recreation are essential
parts of the collegiate experience. It creates spirit and pride on
campus that you cannot quantify -you just feel it. I believe the
addition of our new Wildcat Center in 2011 will elevate our varsity
and recreation programs to another level. Our goal is to
continue building this program to heights that all of our faculty,
staff, students and alumni can be proud of" said Coach Graham.
His wife Nicole is the International Student Advisor at the North
Miami Campus. They have two daughters.

Donzell Nugent

Coach Nugent has been part of the Wildcats program as a player or coach since 2004. He was Coach Graham’s starting point guard from 2004-2008. He led the team in steals and assists over the course of his four years. Two of his teams competed in the USCAA National Championships. He was captain of the team his Junior and Senior seasons.
Coach Nugent has been a men’s basketball assistant since 2009-10 after serving as a JWU women’s basketball assistant for one season in 2008-09. He graduated from JWU in 2008 with a degree in Sports/Entertainment and Event Management. This year Coach Zell has accepted the challenge to build and nurture both the Men's and Women's Cross Country teams for the 2011 season.
