Leonhardt Advances in US Open Qualifier

Sr. Nathan Leonhardt (Vancouver, Canada) recently qualified for the next stage for the US Open at the Legends Golf and Tennis Resort in PGA Village, May 14, 2010. Leonhardt shot 72 to advance and will play his next US Open qualifier in Portland, Oregon to determine his advancement to play in the US Open at Pebble Beach.

JWU also had several other players who played in US Open Qualifiers; Nick Soglanich (South Africa), Josh Briere (VT), Brandon Melzer (FL), Jordan Meltzer (FL) . Each player had good rounds but came up short to advance. Throughout the summer, several JWU players will be playing in major tournaments representing JWU men's golf.

Currently, Leonhardt is with the team this week playing in the NAIA Nationals in Silvas, IL at TPC Deere Run. Jr. Chris Hawley (Walpole, MA), Sr. Joonas Hinkkannen (Helsinki, Finland), Sr. Greg Belsito (Canada), and Fr. Jordan Meltzer (Boca Raton, Fl) are all gearing up to win the Nationals this year. Each player has had a great season and are ready to finish what they started!
