NAIA Scholar Team
The Men's Golf team, Coached by Randy Weber was announced as a scholar team for the 2010-2011 academic year. Without surprise, the North Miami golf team continues to excel in the classroom, demonstrating their responsibility as a students first and foremost. This year a record total of 934 teams were honored, which is an increase over last year's total of 857, that received the award.
Consideration for the NAIA Scholar Team award, is dependent on a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. JWU Men's golf finished the year with a 3.23 average for all varsity student-athletes certified as eligible.
Also noteworthy, Fr. Paige Moffat (Avon, Fla.) Women's golfer, earned a 4.0 in her first year at JWU. She was also a leading member of the Wellness Living and Learning Community. Moffat exemplifies what it means to be a student-athlete who represents the Champions of Character five core values both on and off the course.
