Former member of the JWU Men's Golf Team and Sports Entertainment & Event Management degree graduate Jim Renner finished tied for second at this past weekend's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. He finished tied with PGA Tour superstar Dustin Johnson and one shot off tournament winner Jimmy Walker. This past weekend was Renner's best finish of his career and his 3rd top 5 finish on tour. The second place finish also qualifies him for this weekend's Northern Trust Open in Los Angeles, California.
Renner also went on to win the pro-am portion of the weekend, as he was paired up with CEO John Harkey Jr. The duo combined to shoot an 11 under 61 on Sunday to defeat Rory Sabbatini and Toms Shoes founder Blake Mycoskie.
Renner, 30, graduated from JWU in 2007 and led the team to win the NAIA National Championship in 2005. He was a two-time NAIA All-American, NAIA Player of the Year, & individually won the NAIA National Championship for the Wildcats.
