JWU Tops the Leaderboard following Day One Action at the Dave Adamonis Sr. Invitational

DORAL, Fla. (Oct. 23, 2017)
– Shooting an 11-under (279-278, 557) following the first day of action, the Johnson & Wales men's golf team sits atop the leaderboard at this year's Dave Adamonis Sr. Invitational. The two-day event is a 54-hole tournament at Trump National Doral.

Playing the Red Tiger Course (par 71, 6,359 yards), the Wildcats lead the 16-team field after three Top-10 performance through 36 holes. JWU holds a two-stroke lead over second-place Keiser.

The Wildcats are led by senior Alex Rainville, who sits tied for second place at 6-under (68-68, 136), followed by senior Jake Bauer, who is tied for fifth at 5-under (67-70, 137). Junior Casey Mills recorded a 3-under (73-67, 139) to place tied for 10th. Tied with Mills on the individual leaderboard is senior Steven Schlenke (71-68, 139), who is playing as an individual.
