Wildcats win Rain-Shortened Dave Adamonis Sr. Invitational

DORAL, Fla. (Oct. 24, 2017)
– Unable to finish the third and final round due to inclement weather, the Johnson & Wales men's golf team claimed the 2017 Dave Adamonis Sr. Invitational title from Trump National Doral with an 11-under (279-378, 557).

The Wildcats took the invite with a two-stroke lead over second-place Keiser (278-281, 559). Rounding out the top five were Coastal Georgia (288-276, 564), Southeastern (285-283, 568), Wayland Baptist (286-286, 572) and Barry (281-291, 572). 

Senior Alex Rainville was named the tournament's co-runner-up with a team-best 6-under (68-68, 136) and garnered all-tournament honors. Joining Rainville on the all-tournament team was senior Jake Bauer, who posted a 5-under (67-70, 137).

JWU will next travel to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to take part in the Southern Plains Intercollegiate on Monday, Oct. 30.
