PLANTATION, Fla. (April 23, 2018) – Led by Alex Rainville's five-under 67, the Johnson & Wales men's golf team finished the first day of the 2018 Sun Conference Men's Golf Championship in second place with a team score of 286 (-2).
The tournament, held at the Plantation Preserve Golf Course & Club (par 72, 7,021 yards), saw a first round that was delayed nearly five hours due to thunderstorms in the area.
After 18 holes of action, JWU trails Keiser (-10) by eight strokes and leads USCB (-1) by one.
Rainville carded five birdies on Day One to pace the Wildcats and sit tied atop the tournament leaderboard. Jake Bauer finished the day with a 71 (-1) followed by two-over performances (74) by both Casey Mills and Max Major. Cody Booska ended the first day with a five-over 77.
Day Two of this year's tournament is slated to tee off at 8:00 am on Tuesday with JWU set to go at approximately at 8:45 am.
