NAIA PING All-America Second and Third Teams Announced; Bauer and Booska Join Rainville among Nation’s Elite

NORMAN, Okla. (June 18. 2018) – The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) finalized on Monday, its NAIA PING All-America Teams, announcing the second and third teams for the 2017-2018 season. Johnson & Wales' Alex Rainville (first team), Jake Bauer (second team), and Cody Booska (third team) were recognized among 34 of the nation's best NAIA golfers from the past year.

Rainville, who was an NAIA PING First-Team All-American (announced back on May 18) and a 2018 All-Sun Conference selection, led the Wildcats with a season stroke average of 72.47 over 43 rounds of action this past season. A member of the NAIA PING All-South Region Team, Rainville collected six Top-5 finishes and a pair of tournament wins during the 2017-18 campaign. He was a two-time TSC Men's Golfer of the Week and finished tied for third on the individual leaderboard with a three-under-par (213) at this year's TSC Championships in Plantation, Florida. A native of St. Johnsbury, Vermont, Rainville ended the year ranked No. 19, nationally, by GolfStat.

Bauer, who was named an NAIA All-American (NAIA Men's Golf Coaches' Association All-America Committee), was also named to this year's Sun Conference All-Academic Team as well as the 2018 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete Team, registered a season stroke average of 72.55 in 15 total events. The 2018 All-TSC honoree recorded two Top-5 results this season. A member of the NAIA PING All-South Region Team, the native of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, finished the year ranked No. 14 by GolfStat.

Booska, an NAIA All-American (NAIA Men's Golf Coaches' Association All-America Committee) and an NAIA PING All-South Region honoree, recorded a 73.80 season stroke average while appearing in 14 events for the Wildcats this season. The product of Turners Falls, Massachusetts, registered three Top-5 finishes while being named an All-TSC selection. The TSC Men's Golfer of the Week for the week ending April 15, Booska led the Wildcats to a fourth-place finish in this year's Roadrunner Classic in Rocky Face, Georgia. Booska finished the year as the 32nd-ranked player in the nation by GolfStat.
