Wildcats Picked No. 7 in the Bushnell Golfweek NAIA Preseason Coaches’ Poll

NORMAN, Okla. (Aug. 24, 2018) – The Johnson & Wales men's golf team has been picked No. 7 in this year's Bushnell Golfweek NAIA Preseason Coaches' Poll, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Friday.

The Wildcats were also selected No. 13 in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Preseason Coaches' Poll released on Friday.

Coming off its 18th-consecutive appearance in the NAIA National Championship and a national ranking of tied for 12th, JWU enters its first year under Head Coach Danny Randolph with competition against some of the nation's best.

JWU (160-51) closed out the season having produced a season stroke average of 291.20 over 15 events. The Wildcats finished fourth in the 2018 TSC Men's Golf Championship, marking the team's ninth Top-5 finish in 2017-18. During the 2017-2018 campaign, JWU amassed 19 individual top-10 finishes with 11 Top-5 results and two medalists.

JWU open up action at the Doc Glimmer Invitational in Farmingdale, N.Y. Play begins on Saturday, September 8, from Bethpage State Park.
