Booska Wins Individual Title as Wildcats Finish Second at 25th Annual Webber Fall Invite

LAKE WALES, Fla. (Oct. 15, 2018)
– Shooting a season-low, 10-under par, senior Cody Booska claimed medalist honors while leading the Johnson & Wales (Fla.) men's golf team to a second-place finish at the 25th Annual Webber Fall Invitational.

The three-day, three-round tournament was held at the Lake Wales Country Club (par 72, 7072 yards) and featured nine teams from the Sun Conference, including No. 2-ranked Coastal Georgia, No. 5-ranked USCB, No. 6-ranked Keiser, and No. 20-ranked JWU.

The Wildcats used sub-par rounds in the second (-2) and the third (-11) to finished 13-under – 11 strokes back for first-place Coastal Georgia (-24). Following JWU in the standings were Keiser (-7), USCB (+6), and Southeastern (+11) to round out the top five.

Booska's season-best paced the Wildcats as the native of Turners Falls, Massachusetts, used a career-low 66 (-6) in the second round and a 67 (-5) in the third round for the first tournament win of his JWU career. Junior Gustav Tegel finished the invitational with an 8-under (72-69-67, 208) for his first-collegiate, Top-5 finish, placing third. Junior Tim Bender finished with a 1-over (75-72-70, 217) to finished tied for 11 on the individual leaderboard while junior Matt Maloney placed tied for 20th with a 7-over 223 (76-74-73). Sophomore Jens Bendiksen rounded out the Wildcat scores with a 12-over 228 (tied for 35th).

JWU will close out its fall schedule, hosting the Dave Adamonis Sr. Invitational at Trump National Doral, Monday, October 29 through Tuesday, October 30.
