No. 20 Wildcats Place Fourth at Dave Adamonis Sr Invitational

– Led by senior Cody Booska's three-over 219 (69-70-80), the No. 20-ranked Johnson & Wales (Fla.) men's golf team placed fourth at this year's Dave Adamonis Sr Invitational, October 29-30.

The 11-team tournament was played at Trump National Doral with the first two rounds on the Red Tiger Course (par 72, 6517 yards) and the final round on the Blue Monster (par 72, 7034 yards).

The Wildcats shot 25-over (294-285-310, 889) for the team's fourth Top-5 finish of the fall.

Booska notched his fourth Top-10 finish, placing tied for ninth. The native of Turners Falls, Massachusetts, shot under par during the first day of action (Red Tiger) but struggled with the Blue Monster on the final day with an 8-over 80. Junior Gustav Tegel placed tied for 18th, shooting seven-over (79-73-71, 223) followed by sophomore Jens Bendikson (30th with an 11-over 227). Juniors Matt Maloney (228 - tied for 31st) and Tim Bender (235 – tied for 46th) rounded out the team scoring for the Wildcats.

Six Wildcats played as individuals in the tournament with junior Baylee Wise and senior Nick Fantasia leading the way. Both shot a 232 to finish tied for 38th. Senior Sean Murry posted a 237 to tie for 52nd while junior Jared Silva placed tied for 56th with a 238. Senior George Haggerty shot a 245 (tied for 69th) and junior Ziyi Sihi shot a 259 (tied for 72nd).

JWU finished the fall with a team stroke average of 294.80. The Wildcats had six individual Top-10 finishes, including four Top-5 and one tournament championship.
