Kym Hope, former WNBA player, named Head Coach
Coach Kymberly Hope comes to JWU with an exciting basketball resume. She played her college ball at the University of Miami where she was captain for two years and a First Team All-Big East performer. She followed her college career by playing four years in the WNBA for Utah, Orlando and San Antonio. She also played professionally for four years in Europe and Asia.
Most recently she was an assistant coach at Sun Conference rival St Thomas University. She worked with the post players and assisted in the recruiting process at STU.
"Coach Hope brings tremendous basketball knowledge and passion to JWU. I knew after the first conversation with her that we needed her at Johnson & Wales. She has great energy and a love for the game that is contagious. She also understands that these young women need to perform in the classroom as well as on the court. This is the type of person we need leading the women's program as we enter the Sun Conference. The entire athletic department, women's players and recruits are very excited to have Coach Hope on board" said Director of Athletics, David Graham. The Lady Cats begin practice in October and game play in November.
