@JWUWBballNM Fall to 0-2 in the Sun Conference after loss to Ave Maria 74-78

Last Thursday JWU Women's basketball played against 0-1 Ave Maria. The Lady Wildcats got off to a very good start leading Ave after the first quarter 21-14. However, through a few key turnovers and missed shots the lady Wildcat allowed Ave back in the game going into halftime tied 38-38. After starting the 2nd half sluggish the lady wildcats found themselves down by 10 with 5:00 minutes left in the 4th Quarter. However, the wildcats battled back within two under a minute but Ave was able to hold on for victory. The Lady Wildcats are now 0-2 in sun conference play after the lost to Ave Maria.

Coach Hope commented, "We need to pick it up on defense and minimize our turnover at crucial times in the game, it's important that we fix these things and quickly!"

Key performers were Junior Small Forward Bevin Davis with 26 points 9 rebounds and 8 steals. Starting point guard Diamond Williams added 22 points and 11 rebounds 5 assist and 2 steals. Senior Power forward Kwannita Janvier contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds. The Lady Wildcats are on the road next week as they take on Edward Waters College December 5th at 5:00pm and Jacksonville University on December 6th at noon. The next home game for wildcats will be December 12, 2016 at 7:00pm at the Wildcat center come out and show your support.
