JWU Women's basketball picked up their first sun conference win on the road against 1-2 Warner University 66-63. The Lady Wildcats got off to a very good start going into halftime ahead by 3 points 32-29. At the end of the 3rd quater the lady wildcat found themselves going into the 4th quater with a 10 point lead 59-49. However, Warner Lady Royals did not give up and cut into the wildcat lead down by 3 with 1:00 left in the game and holding the wildcats to only 7 points in the quater. Still the lady wildcats were able to hold on and seal the victory.
Coach Hope commented, "Great on the road win for our ladies this evening, they came out confident and worked extremely hard for this victory today."
Key performers were Senior Guard Joelle Patterson who led all scores with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Diamond Williams added 16 points 7 rebounds 6 assist. Senior Power forward Kwannita Janvier contributed a double double with 11 points and 10 rebounds 2 blocks and 1 steal. The Lady Wildcats are back in action Monday night December 12 at home in the Wildcat Center at 7pm against Texas Wesleyan come out and show your support.
