NORTH MIAMI (Nov. 29, 2017) – The Johnson & Wales women's basketball team (4-4, 0-2 TSC) hosts the No. 3-ranked Southeastern Fire (9-0, 2-0 TSC) in a Sun Conference showdown on Thursday, Nov. 30. The contest will be the first game of a basketball doubleheader at the Wildcat Center as the men will take on SEU following the women's tip set for 6:00 p.m.
JWU is coming off a 74-56 win versus Florida College on Tuesday and will be looking for the team's first conference win of the season. The Wildcats are led offensively by Diamond Williams, who is averaging 20.3 points-per-game on 46.4 percent shooting from the floor. Williams currently ranks No. 11 in the nation in points-per-game and is No. 39 in total steals with 21. Also scoring in double-figures in Tianna Ayulo, who comes into Thursday's action averaging 18.4 points-per-game. Ayulo leads JWU in rebounding (8.4 rpg) good for No. 14 in the nation. JoNae Gonzales leads the team with 42 assists, averaging 5.3 per game, ranking No. 12 in the nation. Gonzales is also averaging 12.1 points-per-game. Rounding out the double-digit scorers is Bevin Mays, who is averaging 12.7 points-per-game.
