Women’s Basketball Falls to No. 3 Southeastern, 86-59

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (Nov. 30, 2017) – Three Wildcats scored in double-figures as the Johnson & Wales women's basketball team (4-5, 0-3 TSC) fell to the No. 3-ranked Southeastern Fire (10-0, 3-0 TSC) in Sun Conference action on Thursday night.

Tianna Ayulo and Nicole Dixon each registered 12 point in the game followed by Diamond Williams, who posted 11 versus SEU. Ayulo shot 5-of-18 from the floor and notched a career-high-tying seven steals. Dixon was 4-of-8 from the floor with all eight attempts coming from beyond the arc. It marked her first double-digit performance of the season. Williams was 4-of-15 from the floor and 3-of-5 from beyond the arc while tallying a team-high five assists. Bevin Mays led all Wildcats with five rebounds.

JWU finished the night shooting 33.3 percent from the floor (21-of-63) while SEU converted 54.8 percent of its shots from the field (34-of-62). The Fire out-rebounded the Wildcats, 44-33, in the contest and held a slight edge in second-chance points, 12-10.

The Wildcats will travel to Ave Maria, Florida, to take on the Gyrenes on Saturday, Dec. 2. Tipoff is slated for 4:00 p.m.
