Men’s and Women’s Basketball Host Florida National in Doubleheader on Tuesday

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (Nov. 5, 2018) – The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) men's and women's basketball programs will host the Florida National Conquistadors in a doubleheader on Tuesday, November 6. The women (0-1) will tip off with FNU (3-5) at 6:00 p.m. The men's (0-2) contest versus Florida National (2-3) is slated to begin at 8:00 p.m.

Admission: $5 general admission, JWU students, staff, and faculty (w/ valid JWU ID) and children 12-and-under are free.

JWU Women's Basketball

Last time out: The Wildcats dropped a 60-50 decision to the U.S. Virgin Islands on Wednesday, October 31. JWU was led by sophomore Tianna Ayulo, who posted 16 points and seven rebounds. Freshman Jordan McDuffie added nine while sophomore Alexis McClain contributed eight. Freshman Ayshia Scott led JWU with five assists to go along with five points. Fellow freshman Carol Hadnot notched a game-high six steals in 16 minutes of action.

JWU Men's Basketball

Last time out: JWU fell to Embry-Riddle (AZ), 105-63, on Tuesday, October 30. Senior Jacknelson Joseph led the Wildcats in scoring for the second-straight contest, scoring 12 points versus the Eagles. The native of Miami also paced JWU with five rebounds as the Wildcats totaled 30 on the night. Sophomore Jordan Martin added nine points while juniors Willem Vermylen and Sidney Alcena contributed eight points apiece.
