JWU tabs Chris Grace as Head Women’s Golf Coach

North Miami, FL -- Chris Grace, who led Redlands Community College Women's Golf to an NJCAA National Championship in 2012, has been named the Head Women's Golf Coach for JWU's North Miami campus, Director of Athletics Dave Griffore announced Monday.

Grace has spent the past three years as an Assistant Golf Professional at Indian Spring Country Club in Boynton Beach, Florida with a burning passion and love for coaching ultimately leading him to JWU. His collegiate coaching experience includes five years as the Head Men's Golf Coach at East Central University in Oklahoma (1996-2001) as well as two years as the Assistant Women's Golf Coach (2008-2010) and three years as Head Women's Golf Coach at Redlands Community College in Oklahoma (2010-2013). While at Redlands, Grace led the Women's Golf team to eight team titles, seven individual titles, two individual National Champions (2012-2013) and won the 2012 NJCAA National Championship while setting the National Tournament scoring record. In 2012, Grace was named NJCAA National Coach of the Year and had four players named NJCAA All-Americans.

"I am extremely excited that Chris is joining our team here at JWU" Athletic Director Dave Griffore said of the hire. "He brings great experience in college coaching and professional teaching that we were looking for in our next Head Coach". Coach AJ Broderick added "I'm incredibly happy with the results of our search for new leadership in Women's Golf. I think Chris will bring a jolt of energy, passion, experience and success to our entire golf program and I'm excited to work alongside someone who is so knowledgeable and well-respected in our industry."

In addition to his stints in coaching, Grace brings a heavy background in the golf industry especially in golf instruction and player development. A PGA Professional and a student of the game, Chris has taken opportunities to study under and work with some of the top instructors in the game including serving as a Senior Instructor at Dave Pelz Golf from 2001-2010.

"I am very excited about this opportunity," Grace said. "I can't thank Athletic Director Dave Griffore, Coach Broderick and everyone at JWU enough for welcoming me already. I'm ready to get down there and meet the team, and get started on building a national championship program."

Women's Golf will kickoff their fall season at the Coastal Georgia Fall Invite on September 10th in Sea Island, Georgia.
