Solivan Scores against AMU
Johnson & Wales University Women's soccer (0-2) welcomed the Gyrenes from Ave Maria University, for Ave Maria's season opener. Regardless of a rain delay both teams came out focused , JWU's Sr. Natasha Solivan (San Juan, Puerto Rico) scored the single goal, in the hard fought loss to AMU, 0-4.
Solivan, who also scored the first goal for JWU women's soccer last season against AMU, was joined by Sr. Tamatri Gale (Temple Hills, MD) on the attack. New to the pitch, Galesefforts on the offense kept the Cats in the game. AMU's momentum started with an unfortunate JWU own goal scored off of a corner kick by the Gyrenes Shawnna Manchette.
Head Coach, Eric Dobrzanski was reassured by the team's improvement this game that they are heading in the right direction. The team's next game is not until September 14th, 3:00pm at St. Thomas University. Dobrzanskiis counting on this time to organize new players coming in and setting a new standard of play.
