Daytona State College Defender Caterina Yibirin Joins @JWUWSoccerNM

JWU women's head soccer coach Eric Dobrzanski and his staff are pleased to announce the addition of junior college defender Caterina Yibirin.  Caterina just completed her second year, which she spent at Daytona State College playing for Head Coach Brittany Jones.  Caterina transferred to DSC after spending her first year at Andrew College in Georgia.   While at Andrew, she was named to the All-Region and All-Tournament Team, along with being named All-Conference Honorable Mention.  Caterina is originally from Coral Spring, Fla. and played at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

"There is no question that Cat will come in and make an impact right away," commented Coach Dobrzanski.  "Her style of play and experience brings so much to our program and what we want from our outside defenders.  She is extremely consistent on the ball and her movement and ideas off the ball make her dangerous in the attack.  I really like where we are going and how our backline is taking shape; we were able to add a talented experienced player like Cat.  I appreciate everything her and her family have done throughout this process, and their support of our program."  Yibirin will come to JWU with her Associates Degree from Daytona State, and will be majoring in Tourism & Hospitality.

The Lady Wildcats kickoff their 2017 campaign on Wednesday August 16th at home against the University of the Virgin Islands.
