The Lady Wildcats women's soccer team (3-4, TSC 0-2) dropped their matchup with NAIA #14 Southeastern University Fire on Saturday night by the score of 4-0. The Fire of SEU jumped ahead early as they would score 2 goals within the first 15 minutes. The Fire would find their 3rd goal of the first half in the 37th minute and carry a 3-0 advantage heading into the break.
The second half would see the Lady Wildcats settle in defensively and create a few quality offensive chances, but it would not be enough to get back into the match. With 1 minute remaining in the game the Fire would add their 4th and final goal. With the loss the Lady Wildcats fall to 3-4 overall and 0-2 in Sun Conference play.
"I thought we definitely came out ready to play tonight, they (Southeastern) just put us under so much pressure early," commented Head Coach Eric Dobrzanski. "I really liked our fight throughout the match, I thought we could have easily been down after they went up 3-0, but we kept fighting and trying to find a way back into the match. We need to keep that fight heading into our remaining conference games."
The Lady Wildcats will now turn their attention to their next conference match this coming Wednesday Sept. 27th at Ave Maria University (0-4, TSC 0-1), kickoff is set for 12pm. Last season's match between the two teams saw JWU come away with the 1-0 win on double overtime.
