MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (Sept. 22, 2018)
– The Johnson & Wales women's soccer team (4-3-0, 1-1-0 TSC) fell to the No. 4-ranked Southeastern Fire (8-1-0, 1-0-0 TSC), 8-1, on Saturday afternoon from the Miami Shores Recreation Center.

Sophomore Savannah Jackson notched her 11th goal of the season in the loss, scoring the Wildcats lone goal in the 60th minute. The native of Davenport, Florida, got behind the Fire's back line for a breakaway with only goalkeeper Holly Eddins to beat. Jackson slotted a shot past Eddins for the second-year Wildcats' 28th-career goal. Junior Tyler Einsmann set up the score with a long pass to a streaking Jackson down the middle of the field. Einsmann was credited with her second assist of the season on the goal.

The Wildcats fell behind early with a Fire score in the third minute followed by an own goal in the seventh minute as a corner kick by SEU's Gabriella Didio caromed off a JWU player. Southeastern added two more goals before the end half as the Wildcats trailed, 4-0, heading into halftime.

Jackson's goal came a little too late as it cut the Fire lead to 5-1 in the 60th minute. SEU added three more goals in regulation for the 8-1 results.

The Wildcats will return to action on Wednesday, September 26, hosting the Ave Maria Gyrenes. Game time is set for noon.
