Volleyball Drops Doubleheader with Warner

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (Oct. 28, 2017) – The Johnson & Wales volleyball team (7-20, 0-14 TSC) dropped a doubleheader with Warner University on Saturday afternoon from the Wildcat Center.

In the first match of the day, Warner defeated JWU, 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-21). Savannah Swenson led the Lady Wildcats with a double-double, posting 10 kills and 17 digs. Anissa Giammona registered a team-high 17 assists. For the match, JWU recorded a hitting percentage of .067, the Lady Royals hit .131.

In the match number two, the Lady Wildcats found themselves on the wrong side of a 3-0 score, falling 25-13, 25-6, 25-16. Swenson again led the team in kills, posting seven in the match, while notching a team-high 11-digs. Giammona had the team lead in assists with seven. Warner out-hit JWU, posting a .300 hitting percentage to the Lady Wildcats' -.132 in the three-set contest.

JWU will continue Sun Conference action, traveling to Miami Gardens on November 1 for a match at St. Thomas. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
