NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (Sept. 13, 2018)
– The Johnson & Wales volleyball team (5-6) swept the Trinity College (Fla.) Tigers (1-6), 3-0 (25-9, 25-17, 25-21) on Thursday evening from the New Port Richey Rec Center.

JWU was led by junior Sharell Nairn and sophomore Savannah Swenson who each posted eight kills in the match. Both reached double-figures in digs with Nairn registering 15 and Swenson tallying 14. Sophomore Bianca Torres led all Wildcats with 25 digs – two shy of the school record set by Torres versus Trinity College last season (Oct. 19, 2017). Sophomore Anissa Giammona and freshman Vanessa Orozco recorded 13 assists each. The Wildcats totaled 12.5 team blocks led by sophomore Alexis McClain and junior Sierra Mooney, who both registered four solo blocks and one block assist apiece.

With the win, JWU improved to 3-0 all-time versus the Tigers

The Wildcats will return home to host Warner on Saturday, September 16. First serve is set for 2:00 p.m.
