LAKELAND, Fla. (Sept. 22, 2018)
– The Johnson & Wales volleyball team (6-9, 0-5 TSC) dropped a 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-19) decision to (rv) Southeastern (13-1, 5-0 TSC) on Saturday afternoon from the Furnace on the campus of Southeastern University.

The Wildcats were led by junior Vitoria Nicolau, who posted nine kills on the afternoon. The native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, registered a game-high hitting percentage of .438, committing just two attack errors. She also contributed five digs. Junior Sharell Nairn added eight kills in the contest. The native of Miami moved within one kill of 500 for her career. Nairn also tallied two service aces and six digs versus the Fire.

Freshman Vanessa Orozco notched 20 assists and 14 digs for her fifth double-double of the season. Both totals for the native of Kissimmee, Florida, were team highs. Sophomore Bianca Torres reached double figures in digs with 10 on the afternoon, marking her eighth-straight game with 10-or-more digs.

The Wildcats finished the afternoon with a team hitting percentage of .062 while the Fire hit .140. SEU held a 63-54 advantage in digs and a 6.0-5.0 edge in total team blocks.

JUW returns home to host Trinity College (FL) on Tuesday, September 25. First serve is set for 4:00 p.m.
