JWU Volleyball Suffers 3-0 Loss to Keiser

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (Oct. 2, 2018)
– The Johnson & Wales volleyball team (8-11, 1-7 TSC) suffered a 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-23) loss to Keiser University (10-10, 2-5 TSC) on Tuesday evening from the Wildcat Center.

JWU could not overcome a .080 hitting percentage as the Wildcats dropped their second straight.

The Wildcats were led by junior Sharell Nairn, who posted eight kills, five digs and two block assists in the match. Sophomore Savannah Swenson and junior Vitoria Nicolau contributed six kills each while sophomore Bianca Torres registered a team-high six digs versus the Seahawks. Freshman Vanessa Orozco tallied 20 assists to increase her season total to 458.

JWU had a solid night at the net defensively, recorded 8.0 total team blocks. The Wildcats were led by junior Sierra Mooney, who tallied five total blocks to give the native of Middleburg, Florida, a team-best 47 blocks in 2018.

The Wildcats will host the Webber International Warriors on Friday, October 5. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
