Volleyball Closes Out Season with 3-0 Loss at Coastal Georgia

BRUNSWICK, Ga. (Nov. 3, 2018)
– The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) volleyball team (9-21, 1-15 TSC) lost to the Coastal Georgia Mariners (19-11, 11-5 TSC), 3-0 (25-9, 25-7, 25-16) in the final regular season game of the 2018 season on Saturday afternoon from Coffin Gym.

The Wildcats were led by junior Vitoria Nicolau, who notched seven kills and six digs versus CCG. Junior Sharell Nairn contributed six kills with a hitting percentage of .211 (team-high). The native of Miami increased her career-leading total in kills to 626. Freshman Jazmine Richardson collected five digs in the contest while freshman Vanessa Orozco recorded nine assist versus the Mariners.

JWU finished the afternoon with a 0.17 attack percentage to Coastal Georgia's .508. The Mariners held a 32-21 edge in digs and produced 12 service aces – 10 more than the Wildcats.

With the loss, JWU finishes the 2018 season with a 9-21 record and a 1-15 mark in Sun Conference action.
