Savannah Jackson Named Sergio’s Cuban Café & Grill Player of the Month

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (Sept. 6, 2018) – Women's soccer forward Savannah Jackson has been named the Sergio's Cuban Café & Grill Player of the Month for the month of August, the Johnson & Wales Athletic Department announced on Thursday.

Jackson finished the month with four goals and one assist for nine points to help lead the Wildcats to a 2-0-0 mark. The native of Davenport, Florida, was responsible for the game-winning goal in each of JWU's wins to start the season. In the first two games of the season, Jackson notched back-to-back multiple-goal games with two goals versus Florida National (Aug. 20) and a pair of scores at Florida College (Aug. 30). She led the Wildcats in total shots (20) and shots on goal (6). Jackson currently ranks No. 3 in the Sun Conference and No. 9 in the nation in shots-per-game (6.67). Jackson is also tied for No. 3 in the conference and ranks No. 16 in the nation in total goals scored (4) and is No. 3 in the nation in game-winning goals (2).

Each month during the academic year, a JWU student-athlete will be selected as the Sergio's Cuban Café & Grill Player of the Month based on outstanding athletic accomplishments.
