NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (Oct. 11, 2018) – Women's soccer forward Savannah Jackson has been named the Sergio's Cuban Café & Grill Player of the Month for the month of September, the Johnson & Wales Athletic Department announced on Thursday.
Jackson finished the month with 12 goals and two assists for 26 points. The native of Davenport, Florida, was responsible for four game-winning goals as well as 60.0 percent of the Wildcat offense this past month. She also totaled three hat tricks and four multiple-goal games. Jackson ended the month of September with a team-high 32 shots with 17 on net. On the year, Jackson has registered a single-season school-record 19 goals with four assists for 42 points. She is second in the Sun Conference in both points-per-game (3.50 – No. 7 in the nation) and goals-per-game (1.58 – No. 7 in the nation). Jackson leads the conference and is fifth in the nation in game-winning goals-per-game.
Each month during the academic year, a JWU student-athlete will be selected as the Sergio's Cuban Café & Grill Player of the Month based on outstanding athletic accomplishments.
