NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (April 18, 2019) – Women's track & field senior Taylor Deveaux has been named the Sergio's Cuban Café & Grill Player of the Month for the month of March, the Johnson & Wales Athletic Department announced on Thursday.
Deveaux, a native of West Berlin, New Jersey, qualified for the Sun Conference Track & Field Championships (April 27-28) setting the then-conference-best mark in the Javelin with a throw of 29.70m at the Embry-Riddle Spikes Classic on March 30. The throw was the third-longest of her career and surpassed the TSC Championship-qualifying mark that the she set in her previous meet (Sharks Invitational Meet - March 12; 29.02m). With her season-best mark, Deveaux picked up eight points with a fourth-place finish in the Javelin for the Wildcats. For her efforts, Deveaux was named the Sun Conference Field Athlete of the Week (April 1).
Each month during the academic year, a JWU student-athlete will be selected as the Sergio's Cuban Café & Grill Player of the Month based on outstanding athletic accomplishments.
