JWU’s Paul Dodson Named TSC Sports Information Director of the Year

ORLANDO (June 10, 2019) – Johnson & Wales (Fla.) Sports Information Director Paul Dodson has been named the 2018-19 Sun Conference SID of the Year as announced during this past weekend's annual TSC meetings.

It marks the first time a JWU SID has garnered the award.

Dodson, who just completed his first full year with JWU, also served as the conference SID for women's basketball, men's and women's track & field, and softball. While publicizing the Wildcat's 11 intercollegiate programs, Dodson also oversaw the school's game-day operations for all home events, working closely with JWU's student workers.

A 1998 graduate of the University of Miami, Dodson's duties also include working closely with JWU Director of Athletics Dave Griffore to continually improve the student-athlete experience. He is currently working towards reestablishing JWU's Student-Athletics Advisory Committee (SAAC) and is heavily involved in student-athlete development.

During the 2018-19 season, Dodson diligently worked toward promoting the efforts of JWU's student-athletes which included four All-Americans, the school's first-ever Google Cloud NAIA Academic All-Americans® as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), and a school-record number of student-athletes recognized as Sun Conference Athletes of the Week.

Dodson was also an integral part of the redesign of the Sun Conference's Official Site (www.thesunconference.com) this past spring.

With over two decades of experience in the sports industry, Dodson spent time at FIU, Delaware State, USF, Kansas, and Miami (Fla.) as well as working on the professional side in soccer (both men's and women's) prior to joining the JWU staff.
