Sawyer Hall and Matt Maloney Named JWU Athletics Wildcats of the Week (Week 6)

NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (September 30, 2018) – Women's soccer midfielder Sawyer Hall and men's golfer Matt Maloney have been named JWU Athletics Wildcats of the Week for the week ending September 29 announced on Monday.

The Wildcats of the Week honor is a weekly award given to the top-performing student-athlete among the 11 intercollegiate sports sponsored at JWU. Awarded to the top male and female student-athlete each week by the JWU Athletic Department, those named the Wildcat of the Week will become eligible to be named the Sergio's Player of the Month for the corresponding month.

Hall, a senior from Pembroke Pines, Florida, registered the first multiple-goal game of her JWU career to help lead the Wildcats to a 3-0 win over USCB on Saturday. It also improved JWU to 4-4-1 all-time versus the Sand Sharks. Hall scored her third and fourth goals of the season on Saturday with a strike in the 35th minute and a goal in the 53rd minute. She ended the game with seven total shots and five on goal. On the year, Hall is second on the team in points (11) and goals (4). She currently ranks No. 10 in the conference in goals-per-game (0.57) and is No. 8 in the conference in shots on goal-per-game (1.86).

Maloney, a senior from Dedham, Massachusetts, shot a 1-over 217 (70-71-76) for an eighth-place finish on the individual leaderboard at the Mid-South Classic in Newton, Kansas, last week.
