NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (November 26, 2019) – Women's soccer forward Savannah Jackson has been named the Sergio's Cuban Café & Grill Player of the Month for the month of October, the Johnson & Wales Athletic Department announced on Tuesday.
Jackson, a junior from Winter Haven, Florida, finished the month with 18 goals and three assists for 39 points in eight games. The third-year Wildcat helped JWU reach the 10-win plateau for the second-straight year while guiding the women's soccer team to the No. 3 seed in the Sun Conference Women's Soccer Championships. During the month of October, Jackson was named the TSC Offensive Player of the Week, twice (10/13 and 10/20) and became the first Wildcat to be named the NAIA Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week (10/22). She had five multiple-goal games during the month, including a school-record six versus Florida Memorial (10/16).
Each month during the academic year, a JWU student-athlete will be selected as the Sergio's Cuban Café & Grill Player of the Month based on outstanding athletic accomplishments.
