Wildcat Wellness invites you to put your leadership skills in action or develop them on the go! WW sponsors trips that take students off campus and into nature. Trips are designed to engage students physically and socially, using the best that Southern Florida has to offer.
North Miami is a prime location for many outdoor activities that make best use of the Florida East Coast. Programs are designed to provide an outlet for all individuals to experience adventure and challenge them to step outside of their comfort zone. Ultimately giving students an opportunity to interact with their peers and expose them to a variety of recreational events that will enhance their collegiate experience.
OUTDOOR PURSUITS- Leadership Series
Family Weekend: Sunrise Kayaking at Oleta River State Park
DATE: 10/22/17 at 8:00 a.m.
This event is $10 per person and requires registration on the family weekend website.
Enjoy all that Southern Florida has to offer, right near campus, as you paddle through the mangroves in the bay. Single or tandem kayaks are available and beginners are welcome to join. Row out to an island and have lunch while you lounge in the white sand. Transportation is provided and all necessary equipment is provided.
January TBA Golf Clinic: Miami Shores C.C.
Meet in the Wildcat Center 12:45pm- Free- 20 people max
Learn the basics of a proper swing from the ground up both on the driving range and on the putting green. Sponsored by Golf Management. Transportaion and equipment provided.
February- Deep Sea Fishing, Kelly Fleet Charters
Head out into the deep blue sea from Haulover Marina for some night fishing on a fully equipped charter boat. Let knowledgeable fisherman teach you how to fish using the most advanced electronic fish finders. The trip includes bait, tackle, and the necessary fishing license. Transportation is provided.
April- Ski Rixen USA
Cable water-skiing - no boat required - at the only wakeboard and water-ski park in South Florida. Slalom, trick-ski, kneeboard, wakeboard, or even surf without a wave.
Programs are held through out the year at various times, a current schedule is available online or in print at the Wildcat Center.
