Rough Second-Half Leads to 78-44 Loss at Faulkner

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (Nov. 11, 2017) – A rough second half for the Johnson & Wales men's basketball team (0-3) led to a 78-44 loss at Faulkner University (5-0) on Saturday afternoon. The game was the team's second and final contest of this year's Veteran's Day Classic hosted by Faulkner.

The Wildcats shot just 6-of-29 during the final 20 minutes of action, as the Eagles outscored JWU, 39-18, in the second half. Isa Brandon led all Wildcats with nine points and 10 rebounds. The native of Chesterfield, England, was one point shy of tallying his second-straight double-double. Jack Joseph came off the bench to provide seven points for JWU along with Dylan McHugh (six points) to round out the Wildcat top scorers.

JWU finished the afternoon converting 16-of-57 shots from the floor (28.1 percent), including eight three-pointers. Faulkner shot 41.5 percent from the floor (27-of-65) highlighted by a second-half shooting percentage of 53.6 percent (15-of-28). The Eagles outrebounded the Wildcats, 56-29, including a 19-5 advantage on the offensive glass.

The Wildcats will return home to host Coastal Georgia in the team's Sun Conference opener on Thursday, Nov. 16. Tipoff is set for 7:30 pm EST.
