– Freshman Tristan Stephens registered the first double-double of his Wildcat career, scoring 25 points and grabbing 12 rebounds during an 87-68 loss for the Johnson & Wales (Fla.) men's basketball team (0-10, 0-6 TSC) versus the St. Thomas Bobcats (5-5, 4-1 TSC) on Saturday.

Stephens, who shot 10-of-15 from the floor, reached the 20-point plateau and 10-or-more rebounds for the first time in his collegiate career. The native of West Palm Beach, Florida, notched seven of his 12 total rebounds on the offensive glass. Junior Sidney Alcena added 11 points followed by 10 from junior Michael Stuart. Freshman Dwayne Adams notched a team-high five assists versus the Bobcats.

Trailing by six points (40-34) at halftime, the Wildcats hit a cold spell to start the second half as STU went on a 13-2 run to put JWU behind by 20 with 14:09 left in the game. JWU got as close as 12 (72-60) with 4:24 remaining in the game following a 3-point play by Stephen. However, STU maintained its lead, resulting in the loss for the Wildcats.

JWU shot 39.0 percent from the floor (23-of-59) and was 9-of-27 from downtown (33.3 percent). STU went 30-of-55 from the floor (55.5 percent) and converted 12-of-25 shots from 3-point range (48.0 percent). The Bobcats held a 39-33 advantage on the boards while JWU had the slight edge on the offensive glass, 11-10.

The Wildcats will travel to Boca Raton, Florida, to take on Lynn University in an exhibition game on Tuesday, December 11. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
