Four Wildcats Score in Double-Figures in 93-86 Loss at No. 22 Warner

– Four Wildcats reached double-figures in scoring as the Johnson & Wales (Fla.) men's basketball team (0-15, 0-8 TSC) lost the No. 22-ranked Warner Royals (13-6, 7-1 TSC), 93-86, on Thursday night.

Senior Jacknelson Joseph led the way, scoring 20 points on 6-of-8 shooting from 3-point range to go along with a pair of made free throws. Junior Sidney Alcena and freshman Tristan Stephens scored 16 points apiece. Alcena made 5-of-11 shooting from the floor while Stephens converted 6-of-9 shots from the field. Both hit from long range three times in the contest. Rounding out the double-digit scorers for the Wildcats was junior Michael Stuart, who added 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting.

The Wildcats finished the contest shooting 51.8 percent from the floor (29-of-56) and 44.1 percent from downtown (15-of-34). Warner converted 31-of-56 shots from the floor (55.4 percent) and was 6-of-16 from beyond the arc (37.5 percent).

The big difference in the game came on the glass as the Royals outrebounded the Wildcats, 38-13, including a 13-3 edge on the offensive boards. The rebounding advantage resulted in a 14-7 tilt in second-chance points in favor of the Royals.

JWU will host the Webber International Warriors on Saturday, January 12. Game time from the Wildcat Center is set for 4:00 p.m.
