NORTH MIAMI, Fla. (Jan. 23, 2019) – The Johnson & Wales men's and women's basketball teams travel to Ave Maria, Florida, to take on the Gyrenes in a Sun Conference doubleheader on Thursday, January, 24.

JWU Women's Basketball

Last time out: The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) women's basketball team (6-13, 3-8 TSC) fell to the Coastal Georgia Mariners (13-7, 7-4 TSC), 80-66, on Saturday, January 19, from the Wildcat Center. The Wildcats were led by sophomore Tianna Ayulo, who posted 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for her eighth double-double of the season. The native of Hollywood, Florida, shot 7-of-14 from the floor and was 4-of-6 from the free-throw line for her 12th 20-point out of the 2018-19 campaign. Freshman Jordan McDuffie added 15 points on 6-of-15 shooting while both senior JoNae Gonzales-Smith and freshman Carol Hadnot contributed 12 points apiece.

JWU Men's Basketball

Last time out: The Johnson & Wales (Fla.) men's basketball team (2-16, 2-9 TSC) dropped a 93-67 decision to the Coastal Georgia Mariners (11-10, 6-5 TSC) on Saturday, January 19, from the Wildcat Center. Freshman Dwayne Adams led all Wildcats with a career-high 27 points on 9-of-19 shooting from the floor while draining five 3-point buckets. The native of Miami also dished out six assists, marking the sixth-straight game of five-or-more assists for the first-year Wildcat. Adams also ended the night with four steals. Fellow freshman Tristan Stephens also collected four steals while contributing 10 points and grabbing a team-high seven boards. Senior Jacknelson Joseph added 10 points as well on 4-of-11 shooting from the floor.
